Take, for instance, an AI program that let <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/bach-google-doodle-967765\">web users compose music<\/a> along with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/doodles\/celebrating-johann-sebastian-bach\">virtual Johann Sebastian Bach<\/a> by entering notes into a program that generates Bach-like harmonies to match them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.apnews.com\/678dcb90ff2344d39348cea55c95cf52\">Run by Google<\/a>, the app <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vox.com\/future-perfect\/2019\/3\/21\/18274957\/google-doodle-ai-bach-music\">drew<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/sciencetech\/article-6834369\/First-artificial-intelligence-Google-Doodle-features-Bach.html\">great<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/thenextweb.com\/distract\/2019\/03\/21\/googles-ai-powered-doodle-to-celebrate-bachs-birthday-is-its-best-ever\/\">praise<\/a> for being groundbreaking and fun to play with. It also attracted <a href=\"https:\/\/lodewijkmuns.nl\/2019\/03\/22\/playmobil-bach\/\">criticism<\/a>, and raised concerns about AI\u2019s dangers.<\/p>\n<p>My study of how <a href=\"https:\/\/www.slu.edu\/law\/faculty\/ana-santos-rutschman.php\">emerging technologies affect people\u2019s lives<\/a> has taught me that the problems go beyond the admittedly large concern about <a href=\"https:\/\/theconversation.com\/new-ai-art-has-artists-collaborators-wondering-who-gets-the-credit-112661\">whether algorithms<\/a> can really <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/nicolemartin1\/2019\/03\/22\/googles-new-doodle-opens-debate-about-ai-in-music\/#3a89f6114b5d\">create music<\/a> or art in general.
