The work appears in <em>Physical Review Letters<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The thin strip, called a \u201cnanoribbon,\u201d is a version of a material that conducts electrical current on its surface but not on the inside \u2014 called a \u201ctopological insulator\u201d \u2014 with two superconductor electrical leads to form a device called a \u201cJosephson junction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- Link: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedaily.com\/releases\/2019\/02\/190226155014.htm\">https:\/\/www.sciencedaily.com\/releases\/2019\/02\/190226155014.htm<\/a> --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Long story short, qubits need a better immune system before they can grow up.
