The latest target for scientists working with stem cells is type 1 diabetes, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41556-018-0271-4\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">a new study<\/a> reveals that it\u2019s possible to convert stem cells into cells capable of producing insulin, potentially opening the door to a cure.<\/p>\n<p>The goal which the scientists <a href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2019\/02\/03\/stem-cells-may-treat-type-1-diabetes\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">are rapidly working towards<\/a> is to be able to replace insulin-producing cells in individuals who have type 1 diabetes.
