It looks like a standard USB thumb drive, and it runs on a USB 3.0 port, but is oh-more-special. CNET said the new AI \u201cbrain\u201d sticks into the side of your PC.<\/p>\n<p>Andrew Tarantola in <i>Engadget<\/i> summed up its significance. \u201cIntel\u2019s NCS2 is essentially a self-contained neural network on a thumbdrive and should make developing those sorts of devices faster and easier by offloading much of the processing power required to train them to its onboard Movidius Myriad X vision processing unit (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2018\/11\/14\/intel-neural-compute-stick-2\/\">VPU<\/a>).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The debut took place Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Intel AI Devcon in Beijing.<\/p>\n<p><!-- Link: <a href=\"https:\/\/techxplore.com\/news\/2018-11-usb-neural-debut-event.html\">https:\/\/techxplore.com\/news\/2018&#45;11-usb-neural-debut-event.html<\/a> --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Intel has unveiled the Intel Neural Compute Stick 2.
