About the size of a thumb drive, the devices are known as tissue chips or organs on chips.<\/p>\n<p>A series of investigations to test tissue chips in microgravity aboard the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/mission_pages\/station\/research\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">International Space Station<\/a><\/strong> is planned through a collaboration between the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ncats.nih.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">NCATS<\/a><\/strong>) at the National Institutes for Health (<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nih.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">NIH<\/a><\/strong>) and the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space (<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.iss-casis.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">CASIS<\/a><\/strong>) in partnership with NASA.
