Futurist, inventor, and author of the NYT bestselling book \u201cThe Singularity Is Near\u201d<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/lifeboat.com\/ex\/bios.ray.kurzweil\">Ray Kurzweil<\/a> is going to be keynote speaker of the conference.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/lifeboat.com\/blog.images\/ray-kurzweil-to-keynote-h-summit-harvard-the-rise-of-the-citizen-scientist3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"222\" height=\"240\" \/>Also speaking at the H+ Summit @ Harvard is <a href=\"https:\/\/lifeboat.com\/ex\/bios.aubrey.de.grey\">Aubrey de Grey<\/a>, a biomedical gerontologist based in Cambridge, UK, and is the Chief Science Officer of <a href=\"http:\/\/sens.org\/\">SENS Foundation<\/a>, a California-based charity dedicated to combating the aging process. His talk, \u201cHype and anti-hype in academic biogerontology research: a call to action\u201d, will analyze the interplay of over-pessimistic and over-optimistic positions with regards of research and development of cures, and propose solutions to alleviate the negative effects of both.<\/p>\n<p>The theme is \u201cThe Rise Of The Citizen Scientist\u201d, as illustrated in his talk by Alex Lightman, Executive Director of <a href=\"http:\/\/humanityplus.org\">Humanity+<\/a>:<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" style=\"margin-top: 15px;margin-bottom: 15px\" src=\"https:\/\/lifeboat.com\/blog.images\/ray-kurzweil-to-keynote-h-summit-harvard-the-rise-of-the-citizen-scientist.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"240\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cKnowledge may be expanding exponentially, but the current rate of civilizational learning and institutional upgrading is still far too slow in the century of peak oil, peak uranium, and \u2018peak everything\u2019.
