We can look forward to seeing this idea in action. <i>New Scientist<\/i> had a story on September 3 that the US Army was making a laser-powered drone to beast endurance hurdles.<\/p>\n<p>The system in mind involves a <a href=\"https:\/\/techxplore.com\/tags\/laser\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">laser<\/a> shot from the ground that can power up a military <a href=\"https:\/\/techxplore.com\/tags\/drone\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">drone<\/a> mid-flight.<\/p>\n<p>The <i>Daily Mail<\/i> said that this laser system would be beaming power to photovoltaic cells on the drone, and <i>Futurism<\/i> said that \u201cThe key is hitting a photovoltaic cell on the drone, which then <a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/military-drone-laser-power\/\">converts<\/a> the light from the laser into electricity.
