The work is reported Aug. 29 in the journal ACS Applied Materials &amp; Interfaces.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe engineered <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/artificial+cells\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">artificial cells<\/a> from the bottom-up \u2013 like Lego blocks \u2013 to destroy <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/bacteria\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">bacteria<\/a>,\u201d said Assistant Professor Cheemeng Tan, who led the work.
