If this field of quantum information is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfr.org\/blog\/quantum-race-united-states-cant-afford-lose\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">new space race<\/a>, the US doesn\u2019t want to fall behind.<\/p>\n<p>After all, China has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2018-04-08\/forget-the-trade-war-china-wants-to-win-the-computing-arms-race\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">funded<\/a> a National Laboratory for Quantum Information Sciences, set to open in 2020, and has <a href=\"https:\/\/gizmodo.com\/scientists-teleport-a-particle-hundreds-of-miles-but-w-1796818859#_ga=2.121069896.1728752366.1528122383-3674648492.1521482270\" rel=\"nofollow\">launched a satellite<\/a> meant to test long-distance quantum secure information.
