Since World War I, the <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/ammonia\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">ammonia<\/a> in fertilizer has been primarily produced using the Haber-Bosch method, which is <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/energy\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">energy<\/a> and fossil-fuel intensive.
