Samuel Moore at <i>IEEE Spectrum<\/i> informed readers that a team of four from University of Michigan published their paper describing what they achieved. They built a prototype sensor, and what it does\u2014-think of a future camera that just about watches you non-stop\u2014is described in the journal, <i>IEEE Electron Device Letters<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>The article is titled \u201cSimultaneous Imaging and Energy Harvesting in CMOS Image Sensor Pixels.\u201d The four authors are from University of Michigan: Sung-Yun Park, Kyuseok Lee, Hyunsoo Song and Euisik Yoon.<\/p>\n<p>Their technology \u201cputs the equivalent of a solar cell under each pixel,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/spectrum.ieee.org\/tech-talk\/semiconductors\/optoelectronics\/selfpowered-image-sensor-could-watch-you-forever\">said<\/a> <i>IEEE Spectrum<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p><!-- Link: <a href=\"https:\/\/techxplore.com\/news\/2018-04-imaging-sensor-powered-sunlight.html\">https:\/\/techxplore.com\/news\/2018&#45;04-imaging-sensor-powered-sunlight.html<\/a> --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A simultaneous imaging and energy harvesting sensor is in the news.
