If they spread, as infections are want to do, the agency is tasked with stopping them, and that\u2019s no easy task.<\/p>\n<p>On April 3, CDC Principal Deputy Director Anne Schuchat announced the agency\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/media\/releases\/2018\/t0403-antibiotic-resistant-germs.html\" target=\"_blank\">latest containment strategy<\/a>, which recommends an aggressive response to the appearance of even a single case of drug-resistant infection.
