The technology possesses potential advantages over lithium-ion batteries\u2014notably, higher <a href=\"https:\/\/techxplore.com\/tags\/energy\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">energy<\/a> density, greater stability, and lower cost.<\/p>\n<p>NREL researchers (from left) Seoung-Bum Son, Steve Harvey, Andrew Norman and Chunmei Ban are co-authors of the <i>Nature Chemistry<\/i> white paper, \u201cAn Artificial Interphase Enables Reversible Magnesium Chemistry in Carbonate Electrolytes\u201d working with a Time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry.
