The intelligence\u2019s name is Shibuya Mirai and exists only as a chatbot on the popular Line messaging app. Mirai, which translates to \u2018future\u2019 from Japanese, joins Hanson Robotic\u2019s \u201cSophia\u201d as pioneering AI gaining statuses previously reserved for living, biological entities. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia <a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/for-the-first-time-ever-a-robot-was-granted-citizenship\/\">granted Sophia citizenship<\/a> last month.<\/p>\n<p>The Shibuya Ward of Tokyo <a href=\"https:\/\/www.afp.com\/en\/news\/15\/ai-boy-granted-residency-central-tokyo\">released a statement<\/a> through Microsoft saying, \u201cHis hobbies are taking pictures and observing people.
