However, due to the transaction bottleneck and extremely high fees, the notary service became unsustainable. Now <a href=\"http:\/\/Bitcoin.com\">Bitcoin.com<\/a> has re-launched the notary using the bitcoin cash (BCH) blockchain, and anyone in the world can prove ownership for only 0.0005 BCH (about $0.97).<\/b><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Also read:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/lots-of-optimism-at-the-miami-bitcoin-conference-this-week\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lots of Optimism at the Miami Bitcoin Conference This Week<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>This week Bitcoin.com has re-launched the <a href=\"https:\/\/notary.bitcoin.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> blockchain-based notary service<\/a> that was once tethered to the bitcoin core blockchain. Unfortunately, the service did not work correctly because of transaction backlog, and high <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/bitcoin-fees-have-become-infeasible\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">network fees<\/a> to verify documents. Now the infrastructure is tied to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bitcoincash.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> bitcoin cash<\/a> blockchain making document verification extremely cheap, and fees are practically non-existent. Right now a user can <a href=\"https:\/\/notary.bitcoin.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> upload a document<\/a> for only 0.0005 BCH ($0.97), and the network transaction fee is less than a penny. (It\u2019s important to note that records don\u2019t actually \u201cexist\u201d on the chain per say, it is merely timestamped encrypted data that is tied to the file that\u2019s processed into a valid BCH transaction.)
