The news isn\u2019t a complete surprise, as Samsung previously said that GDDR6 was coming when it unveiled <a href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2017\/12\/20\/samsung-faster-smaller-greener-ddr4-ram-chips\/\">8-gigabit DDR4 RAM chips<\/a> last month and won a <a href=\"https:\/\/wccftech.com\/samsung-gddr6-memory-16gb-announced\/\">CES 2018 Innovation Award<\/a> in November.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeginning with this early production of the industry\u2019s first 16Gb GDDR6, we will offer a comprehensive graphics DRAM line-up, with the highest performance and densities, in a very timely manner,\u201d said Samsung\u2019s Senior VP Jinman Han.
