But the thing is, the students never realized that they were talking to a robot.<\/p>\n<p>IBM\u2019s Watson platform has done a number of remarkable things since its inception. <a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/ibm-watson-pepper\/\">Robots in retail stores<\/a> are now powered by Watson, as are <a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/ibm-sticks-watsons-brain-into-a-friendly-virtual-assistant\/\">virtual assistants<\/a>, and (of course) <a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/artificial-intelligence-scientists-create-cognitive-system-to-help-solve-our-problems\/\">intelligent chatbots<\/a>.
