However, precision editing has not been possible for cells that have stopped dividing, including mature neurons. Researchers at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maxplanckflorida.org\/news-and-media\/news\/gene-editing-in-the-brain-gets-a-major-upgrade\/\" target=\"_blank\">Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience<\/a> (MPFI) have created a new tool that allows, for the first time ever, precise genome editing in mature neurons.
