The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration\u2019s Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swpc.noaa.gov\/news\/x82-r3-strong-x-ray-event-observed-101606-utc\">released a statement<\/a> that warned of strong, high-frequency radio blackouts and navigation-system disruption, potentially lasting up to an hour.<\/p>\n<p>Like the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/38098-solar-flares-cmes-sunspot-ar2673.html\">six other flares observed since Sept. 4<\/a>, this one came from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/38069-see-sunspot-that-made-monster-solar-flare.html\">a sunspot known as Active Region (AR) 2673<\/a>, which is currently turning away from Earth and will soon be out of sight.<\/p>\n<p><!-- Link: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.livescience.com\/60380-sun-monster-solar-flares-seven-days.html\">https:\/\/www.livescience.com\/60380-sun-monster-solar-flares-seven-days.html<\/a> --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The sun fired off yet another powerful solar flare yesterday (Sept. 10), its seventh in seven days.
