Their approach managed to translate facial expression into ultrasonic words.<\/p>\n<p>David Lumb in <i>Engadget<\/i> said the researchers built a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2017\/05\/15\/silently-speak-across-room-with-ultrasonic-beam\/\">wearable<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/techxplore.com\/tags\/system\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">system<\/a>; its components are a <a href=\"https:\/\/techxplore.com\/tags\/speaker\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">speaker<\/a> worn on the forehead or chest and electrodes placed on the lips and jaw.<\/p>\n<p>The only \u201csnag,\u201d as <i><i>New Scientist<\/i> <\/i>called it, is fairly substantial.
