{"id":34651,"date":"2017-02-17T10:22:54","date_gmt":"2017-02-17T18:22:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lifeboat.com\/blog\/2017\/02\/google-teams-up-with-kaggle-to-host-100000-video-classification-challenge"},"modified":"2017-06-04T13:47:13","modified_gmt":"2017-06-04T20:47:13","slug":"google-teams-up-with-kaggle-to-host-100000-video-classification-challenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lifeboat.com\/blog\/2017\/02\/google-teams-up-with-kaggle-to-host-100000-video-classification-challenge","title":{"rendered":"Google teams up with Kaggle to host $100,000 video classification challenge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"aligncenter blog-photo\" href=\"https:\/\/lifeboat.com\/blog.images\/google-teams-up-with-kaggle-to-host-100000-video-classification-challenge.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Google and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kaggle.com\/\">Kaggle<\/a> today <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/cloud.google.com\/blog\/big-data\/2017\/02\/google-cloud-and-youtube-8m-challenge-predict-youtube-video-tags-for-a-chance-to-win-up-to-30k\">announced<\/a> a new machine learning <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kaggle.com\/c\/youtube8m\">challenge<\/a> that asks developers to find the best way to automatically tag videos.<\/p>\n<p>The challenge, which comes with a $30,000 prize for the first-place finisher (and $25,000, $20,000, $15,000 and $10,000 for the next four teams), asks developers to classify and tag videos from Google\u2019s updated <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/research.googleblog.com\/2017\/02\/an-updated-youtube-8m-video.html\">YouTube-8M V2 data set<\/a>. This data set features a total of 7 million YouTube videos that add up to 450,000 hours of video. YouTube-8M already includes labels, too, and developers can use this as their training data.
