Half of all <a href=\"http:\/\/www.medicinenet.com\/image-collection\/pancreatic_cancer_picture\/picture.htm\" rel=\"img\">pancreatic cancer<\/a> cases were diagnosed within a year of patients being diagnosed with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.medicinenet.com\/diabetes_mellitus\/article.htm\" rel=\"dt\">diabetes<\/a>, the findings showed.<\/p>\n<p>The investigators also found that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.medicinenet.com\/type_2_diabetes\/quiz.htm\" rel=\"quiz\">type 2 diabetes<\/a> patients whose condition deteriorated rapidly requiring more aggressive treatment were also at increased risk for pancreatic <a href=\"http:\/\/www.medicinenet.com\/cancer\/article.htm\" rel=\"dt\">cancer<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!-- Link: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.medicinenet.com\/script\/main\/art.asp?articlekey=201366\">http:\/\/www.medicinenet.com\/script\/main\/art.asp?articlekey=201366<\/a> --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Certainly explains patterns in certain families.
