OpenAI seeks to develop AI to benefit all of humanity \u2014 a goal Microsoft isn\u2019t foreign to, with its <a href=\"http:\/\/futurism.com\/how-to-train-your-ai-microsoft-releases-open-source-deep-learning-software\/\" target=\"_blank\">open-source deep learning software<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s great to work with another organization that believes in the importance of democratizing access to AI,\u201d reads OpenAI\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/openai.com\/blog\/openai-and-microsoft\/\" target=\"_blank\">official blog announcement<\/a> about the partnership. For their part, Microsoft sees a valuable partner in OpenAI. As one spokesperson said in <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2016\/11\/15\/microsoft-teams-up-with-elon-musks-openai-project\/?ncid=rss\" target=\"_blank\">an interview for<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2016\/11\/15\/microsoft-teams-up-with-elon-musks-openai-project\/?ncid=rss\" target=\"_blank\">TechCrunch<\/a>: \u201cThrough this partnership, Microsoft and OpenAI will advance their mutual goal to democratize AI, so everyone can benefit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>OpenAI will make Microsoft Azure its preferred cloud platform. \u201cAzure has impressed us by building hardware configurations optimized for deep learning \u2014 they offer K80 GPUs with <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/InfiniBand\" target=\"_blank\">InfiniBand<\/a> interconnects at scale,\u201d says OpenAI.
