Gen. Curtis M. Bedke.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was a period where engine technology had just sort of stagnated \u2014 a point where all materials technology was going along at about the same pace,\u201d Bedke added. \u201cThere just wasn\u2019t much happening.
