This after Germany\u2019s Bunderat has passed a resolution to ban the internal combustion engine starting in 2030, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spiegel.de\/auto\/aktuell\/bundeslaender-wollen-benzin-und-dieselautos-ab-2030-verbieten-a-1115671.html\" target=\"_blank\">Germany\u2019s Spiegel Magazin writes.<\/a> Higher taxes may hasten the ICE\u2019s departure.<\/p>\n<p>An across-the-aisle Bunderat resolution calls on the EU Commission in Brussels to pass directives assuring that \u201clatest in 2030, only zero-emission passenger vehicles will be approved\u201d for use on EU roads. Germany\u2019s Bundesrat is a legislative body representing the sixteen states of Germany. On its own, the resolution has no legislative effect. EU type approval is regulated on the EU level.
