The accident was first reported Friday by <em><a href=\"https:\/\/9to5google.com\/2016\/09\/23\/googles-self-driving-car-was-today-in-what-appears-to-be-its-worst-accident-yet\/\">9to5 Google<\/a><\/em>, which characterized the incident as Google\u2019s \u201cworst accident yet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Google insisted its driverless car was not at fault.
