The company faces a new era of competition <a href=\"http:\/\/qz.com\/281619\/what-it-took-for-elon-musks-spacex-to-disrupt-boeing-leapfrog-nasa-and-become-a-serious-space-company\/\">as Elon Musk\u2019s maturing SpaceX<\/a> aims to <a href=\"http:\/\/qz.com\/757860\/spacex-blasts-off-and-lands-its-fifth-reusable-booster-rocket-this-year\/\">fly more space missions in one year<\/a> than ULA does, and as Jeff Bezos\u2019 Blue Origin breaks ground on <a href=\"http:\/\/qz.com\/718817\/jeff-bezos-blue-origin-is-building-a-huge-rocket-factory-in-florida\/\">a new factory<\/a> for orbital rockets.<\/p>\n<p>ULA, for its part, isn\u2019t sitting still. \u201cI came here to transform the company, position it in this new competitive marketplace with all these different players,\u201d says Tony Bruno, who took the CEO job at ULA in August 2014 after a three-decade career in Lockheed\u2019s missile-defense business.
