Glad that more have concluded this tie.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>Genetic <a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bionews.org.uk\/page_1700.asp\" rel=\"*page.asp?obj_id=1700&cAct=SIMP\" title=\"mutations\">mutations<\/a> on several <a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bionews.org.uk\/page_1687.asp\" rel=\"*page.asp?obj_id=1687&cAct=SIMP\" title=\"genes\">genes<\/a> including <a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bionews.org.uk\/page_454933.asp\" rel=\"*page.asp?obj_id=454933&cAct=SIMP\" title=\"BRCA2\"><em>BRCA2<\/em><\/a> have been associated with prostate cancer; while in a separate study, a <a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bionews.org.uk\/page_454932.asp\" rel=\"*page.asp?obj_id=454932&cAct=SIMP\" title=\"BRCA1\"><em>BRCA1<\/em><\/a> mutation has been linked to a particular form of uterine cancer.<\/p>\n<p>The first study, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nejm.org\/doi\/full\/10.1056\/NEJMoa1603144#t=article\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"NEJM\">published in the New England Journal of Medicine<\/a>, found that 12 percent of men with advanced prostate cancer had inherited mutations in genes involved in the repair of damaged <a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bionews.org.uk\/page_1676.asp\" rel=\"*page.asp?obj_id=1676&cAct=SIMP\" title=\"DNA\">DNA<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.icr.ac.uk\/our-research\/researchers-and-teams\/professor-johann-de-bono\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"The Institute of Cancer Research\">Professor Johann de Bono<\/a> of the Institute of Cancer Research in London and the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, who led the study, said: \u2018Our study has shown that a significant proportion of men with advanced prostate cancer are born with DNA repair mutations \u2013 and this could have important implications for patients.<\/p>\n<p><!-- Link: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bionews.org.uk\/page_669241.asp\">http:\/\/www.bionews.org.uk\/page_669241.asp<\/a> --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Personally; I have heard this several years ago from some medical researchers.
