The creators behind the short film <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=LY7x2Ihqjmc\"><em>Sunspring<\/em><\/a> do. Instead of Google\u2019s product, however, they turned to a neural network named \u201cJetson\u201d to do all the heavy lifting. The result? A bizarre nine minutes that you\u2019ll remember for quite some time.<\/p>\n<p>Starring <a href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2014\/04\/21\/hbo-silicon-valley-renewal\/\"><em>Silicon Valley\u2019s<\/em><\/a> Thomas Middleditch and directed by Oscar Sharp, the short features a special script compiled by the neural network that even wrote a song unique to the film. After being fed scripts like <em>Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind<\/em>, <em>Watchmen<\/em> and <em>Aliens<\/em> (as well as tons of others) it produced a nonsensical mess that actually works quite well in practice. It\u2019s terrible. But then again, it\u2019s so intense it\u2019s entertaining. The film was shot and edited in 48 hours, which is a feat considering how polished it looks in practice.<\/p>\n<p>As one character says \u201cWell, I don\u2019t know anything about any of this, so\u2026\u201d You might get that feeling after viewing the film, but it\u2019s just like watching the insane ramblings of porn stars in Vernon Chatman\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Final-Flesh\/dp\/B002RFX9Y0?ie=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0&tag=lifeboatfound-20\"><em>Final Flesh<\/em><\/a>. They\u2019re both eerily similar in tone, though <em>Sunspring<\/em> is far more incoherent.
