However, when I had worked in government we found for the \u201cTop Secret\u201d and highly \u201cClassified\u201d systems that the best secured method is to continue to leave these systems unconnected and using those floppy disks to transfer information. Yes it\u2019s dinosaur technology; it has been proven time and time again to be the most reliable and safest until we have QC on a massive scale adopted.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>The Defense Department is creating an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/articles\/2016\/05\/19\/2016-11703\/privacy-act-of-1974-system-of-records\">information-sharing platform<\/a> that will monitor risks posed by government employees and other individuals in possession of high-level U.S. government security clearance.<\/p>\n<p>The program, known as \u201cDepartment of Defense (DoD) Component Insider Threat Records System\u201d is part of an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/articles\/2011\/10\/13\/2011-26729\/structural-reforms-to-improve-the-security-of-classified-networks-and-the-responsible-sharing-and\">executive order<\/a> signed by President Obama in October 2011. The system aims to prevent leaks of classified government information and will monitor individuals who were granted eligibility to access classified information and those \u201cwho have exhibited actual, probable, or possible indications of insider threat behaviors or activities.\u201d This includes National Guard and military reserves personnel, employees, DoD contractors.<\/p>\n<p>Concern over the release of classified information by insider threats is a long-running concern of the DOD. An earlier <a href=\"https:\/\/publicintelligence.net\/hbgary-darpa-cyber-insider-threat-cinder-proposal\/\">program<\/a> known as Cyber Insider Threat (CINDER) was managed by DARPA and proposed to monitor the \u201ckeystrokes, mouse movements, and visual cues\u201d of insider threats.<\/p>\n<p><!-- Link: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scmagazine.com\/dod-to-launch-info-sharing-system-to-protect-against-insider-threats\/article\/500526\/\">http:\/\/www.scmagazine.com\/dod-to-launch-info-sharing-system-...le\/500526\/<\/a> --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I could see this for those US Gov. non-classified and even some lower risk classified systems.
