Not sure why we need a robot to flinch.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>It uses a \u2018<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/technology-36387563\">robot-tissue<\/a>\u2019 patch modelled on human skin to decide how much <a href=\"http:\/\/techxplore.com\/tags\/pain\/\">pain<\/a> should be felt and thus what action to take. But now, a group of German <a href=\"http:\/\/techxplore.com\/tags\/researchers\/\">researchers<\/a> is embarking upon a new mission to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/tech\/robots-being-programmed-feel-pain-8045670\" target=\"_blank\">gift robots with pain sensors<\/a> \u2014 or their mechanical equivalents.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s only a matter of time before <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gizmag.com\/oceanone-diving-humanoid-robot\/43039\/\" class=\"\" target=\"_blank\">robots<\/a> are practically human-like.
