It was previously linked to Medusa ransomware, targeting systems via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bleepingcomputer.com\/news\/security\/microsoft-links-medusa-ransomware-affiliate-to-zero-day-attacks\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">zero-day and n-day flaws<\/a> in various products, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bleepingcomputer.com\/news\/security\/microsoft-critical-goanywhere-bug-exploited-in-ransomware-attacks\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">GoAnywhere MFT<\/a>, SmarterTools SmarterMail, Microsoft Exchange, Invanti Connect Secure, and JetBrains TeamCity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A financially motivated threat actor previously associated with the Medusa ransomware operation is now deploying a new ransomware strain called StormEncryptor.
