Authors are Abigail Bohl \u201926, Lucas Lawrence \u201923, Gillis Lowry \u201925 and <a href=\"https:\/\/carlsaganinstitute.cornell.edu\/lisa-kaltenegger\">Lisa Kaltenegger,<\/a> professor of astronomy and director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/carlsaganinstitute.cornell.edu\/\">Carl Sagan Institute <\/a>in the College of Arts and Sciences.<\/p>\n<p>The project utilizes new data from the European Space Agency\u2019s Gaia mission and the NASA Exoplanet Archive to identify planets in the habitable zone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New Cornell research \u2013 co-authored by an undergraduate and two recent alumni \u2013 will help exoplanet scientists pinpoint the most likely places to look for life in the universe out of more than 6,000 exoplanets.
