The team discovered its role in brain inflammation by studying people who carry the <a href=\"https:\/\/medicalxpress.com\/news\/2025-10-rethinking-alzheimer-common-gene-variant.html?utm_source=embeddings&utm_medium=related&utm_campaign=internal\" rel=\"related\">APOE4 gene <\/a>\u2014the strongest genetic risk factor for Alzheimer\u2019s disease.
