{"id":228538,"date":"2026-01-07T21:09:16","date_gmt":"2026-01-08T03:09:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lifeboat.com\/blog\/2026\/01\/how-energy-immune-and-vascular-changes-linked-to-me-cfs"},"modified":"2026-01-07T21:09:16","modified_gmt":"2026-01-08T03:09:16","slug":"how-energy-immune-and-vascular-changes-linked-to-me-cfs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lifeboat.com\/blog\/2026\/01\/how-energy-immune-and-vascular-changes-linked-to-me-cfs","title":{"rendered":"How energy, immune and vascular changes linked to ME\/CFS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"aligncenter blog-photo\" href=\"https:\/\/lifeboat.com\/blog.images\/how-energy-immune-and-vascular-changes-linked-to-me-cfs2.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The study compared whole blood samples from 61 people meeting clinical diagnostic criteria for myalgic encephalomyelitis\/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME\/CFS) with samples from healthy age-and sex-matched volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>White blood cells from ME\/CFS patients showed evidence of \u2018energy stress\u2019 in the form of higher levels of adenosine monophosphate (AMP) and adenosine diphosphate (ADP), indicating reduced generation of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the key energy source within cells.<\/p>\n<p>Profiling of immune cell populations revealed a trend toward less mature subsets of T-lymphocyte subsets, dendritic cells and natural killer cells in people with ME\/CSF.<\/p>\n<p>Comprehensive analysis of plasma proteins highlighted disruptions of vascular and immune homeostasis in patients with ME\/CFS.
