The U.S. Geological Survey estimates there are 89 million tons of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.popularmechanics.com\/science\/energy\/a39762633\/gallium-nitride-could-replace-lithium-in-ev-batteries\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">lithium<\/a> in deposits on Earth, just two one-thousandths of 1 percent of Earth\u2019s elemental abundance.
