If you failed, you returned to a tiny digital tombstone.<\/p>\n<p>In recent years, Tamagotchis have made <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/money\/30575207\/tamagotchi-making-comeback-opens-first-uk-store\/\">an unlikely comeback<\/a>. But now, a team of students at Northeastern University want to build something much more real.<\/p>\n<p>SquidKid looks like a whimsical cartoon squid, but it\u2019s actually a \u201cbioreactor,\u201d essentially a biological life support system. Inside it, floating in a special \u201cbroth\u201d, are millions of real, living, glowing bacteria.
