Research by physicists in Leiden has produced new insights that could be applied in 5G devices and the emerging field of quantum acoustics. The study is <a href=\"https:\/\/opg.optica.org\/abstract.cfm?URI=ol-50-20-6385\" target=\"_blank\">published<\/a> in the journal Optics Letters.<\/p>\n<p>Ph.D. student Thomas Steenbergen says, \u201cWe saw that <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/sound+waves\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">sound waves<\/a> in materials behave in the same way as light, but also slightly differently.
