This achievement, based on Wiesner\u2019s unforgeable quantum money scheme, demonstrates that quantum memories are now mature enough to operate under very demanding conditions for networking.<\/p>\n<p>In a study <a href=\"https:\/\/www.science.org\/doi\/10.1126\/sciadv.adx3223\" target=\"_blank\">published<\/a> on September 19 in <i>Science Advances<\/i>, the Paris team implemented Wiesner\u2019s quantum money, a foundational idea in <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/quantum+cryptography\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">quantum cryptography<\/a> that relies on the no-cloning theorem to prevent counterfeiting.
