They have shown that under certain conditions, boron can mimic the reaction behavior of metals without being toxic or as expensive as metals.<\/p>\n<p>The article <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41557-025-01952-3\" target=\"_blank\">published<\/a> in <i>Nature Chemistry<\/i> shows that boron can also form so-called \u03c0 complexes with <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/olefins\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">olefins<\/a>, which are similar in their properties and behavior to the complexes of transition metals with olefins.
