This new force is mainly aimed at providing resources capable of protecting China\u2019s cyber and space security. On this occasion Xi pointed out that this force is central to achieving the \u201cChinese Dream\u201d suggesting its importance.<\/p>\n<p>This development has not come as a surprise. Last year China had released it\u2019s first-ever White Paper on military strategy [entitled \u201cChina\u2019s Military Strategy\u201d] which stressed on need to shift to \u201cactive defence\u201d and emphasized China\u2019s commitment to \u201cwinning informationized local wars\u201d as also becoming a maritime power.
