Their study was <a href=\"https:\/\/link.aps.org\/doi\/10.1103\/fsg7-bs7q\" target=\"_blank\">published<\/a> online in Physical Review Letters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis study is the first example of applying thermal effective theory to quantum information. The results of this study demonstrate the usefulness of this approach, and we hope to further develop this approach to gain a deeper understanding of quantum <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/entanglement\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">entanglement<\/a> structures,\u201d said lead author and Kyushu University Institute for Advanced Study Associate Professor Yuya Kusuki.<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/classical+physics\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">classical physics<\/a>, two particles that are far apart behave independently. However, in <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/quantum+physics\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">quantum physics<\/a>, two particles can exhibit strong correlations regardless of the distance between them.
