His son, Jacob, emigrated to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Frankfurt_am_Main\" title=\"Frankfurt am Main\">Frankfurt am Main<\/a> in 1570 to escape from the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Inquisition_in_the_Netherlands\" title=\"Inquisition in the Netherlands\">Spanish persecution<\/a> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Protestant\" title=\"Protestant\">Protestants<\/a>.
