Scientists have now come up with a novel way of repairing our neural wiring.<\/p>\n<p>A team led by University of Pisa biologist Sara De Vincentiis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencealert.com\/scientists-grew-mini-brains-from-stem-cells-then-the-brains-sort-of-developed-eyes\">used mini-brains<\/a> grown in a lab to test a technique they\u2019re calling \u201cnano-pulling\u201d, using tiny magnetic particles controlled by magnetic fields to guide axons (connective nerve fibers) into place.<\/p>\n<p>With further development, the researchers believe this approach could help restore the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nigrostriatal_pathway\">nigrostriatal pathway<\/a>, a vital connection in motor control that is compromised in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencealert.com\/go\/IYl\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_self\">Parkinson\u2019s<\/a> patients.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Broken connections between brain cells play a critical role in multiple neurodegenerative conditions, including Parkinson\u2019s disease.
