Instead, they contain liquid hydrocarbons like ethane and methane.<\/p>\n<p>On Earth, <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/liquid+water\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">liquid water<\/a> is thought to have been essential for the origin of life as we know it.
