And, Google with D-Wave indeed would be leading this charge. BTW \u2014 once this pairing of technologies is done; get ready for some amazing AI technology including robotics to come out.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>But there may not be any competitors for a while if Google\u2019s \u201cAce of Spades\u201d newbie performs as <a href=\"http:\/\/googleresearch.blogspot.ca\/2015\/12\/when-can-quantum-annealing-win.html\" rel=\"external nofollow\" title=\"\" class=\"\" data-wpel-target=\"_blank\">they predict<\/a>. According to <b>Hartmut Neven<\/b>, head of its Quantum Al Lab, this baby can run: <i><\/i><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe found that for problem instances involving nearly 1,000 binary variables, quantum annealing significantly outperforms its classical counterpart, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Simulated_annealing\" rel=\"external nofollow\" title=\"\" class=\"\" data-wpel-target=\"_blank\">simulated annealing<\/a>. It is more than 10 to the power of 8 times faster than simulated annealing running on a single core.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"display:none;\" src=\"https:\/\/lifeboat.com\/blog.images\/googles-ai-technology-will-transform-life-as-we-know-it.jpg\" alt=\"D Wave PC\" width=\"274\" height=\"245\" \/>In layperson\u2019s lingo: this sucker will run 100 million times faster than the clunker on your desk.
