The study is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41467-025-59597-2\" target=\"_blank\">published<\/a> in Nature Communications.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike conventional photovoltaic-electrochemical (PV-EC) systems, which generate electricity before producing hydrogen, this direct solar-to-chemical conversion approach reduces losses associated with <a href=\"https:\/\/techxplore.com\/tags\/electrical+resistance\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">electrical resistance<\/a> and minimizes installation footprint.
