In a new study <a href=\"https:\/\/dx.doi.org\/10.1038\/s41467-025-60296-1\" target=\"_blank\">published<\/a> in <i>Nature Communications<\/i>, researchers at the Ernst Str\u00fcngmann Institute in Frankfurt have now shown that such cognitive states can be identified from facial expressions\u2014and can even be used to accurately predict how quickly and successfully a task will be solved.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s more, this works across species\u2014more specifically, macaques and mice.
