Martin, Ph.D., associate professor of neurobiology.<\/p>\n<p>Published in <i>Nature Neuroscience<\/i>, these <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41593-025-01970-x\" target=\"_blank\">findings<\/a> provide insights into binge-drinking behavior and <a href=\"https:\/\/medicalxpress.com\/tags\/alcohol+dependency\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">alcohol dependency<\/a> that may lead to new therapeutic targets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s really hard to comprehend how only a few neurons can have such a profound effect on behavior,\u201d said Dr. Martin, a member of the Brudnick Neuropsychiatric Research Institute at UMass Chan. \u201cThis is exciting because we are starting to understand how only a handful of cells are involved in very specific behaviors.
