And, this will impact at a minimum 4 industries \u2014 financial, real estate, auto, and insurance industries? Something that many in industry will need to get very creative in addressing to entice the future larger market consumers.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>Young people no longer rush to buy their first car, meaning future cities need to think quickly about public transport and the emerging \u201cshare economy\u201d, one of Australia\u2019s leading urban futurists says.<\/p>\n<p>Fewer people will \u201cown a car\u201d, \u201cshared\u201d driverless cars will be common and the \u201cUber\u201d idea of sharing a ride will extend beyond an alternative to taxis, to \u2018sharing\u2019 homes, jobs, electric cars, hotel rooms and bikes by 2050.<\/p>\n<p>That is a version of the Gold Coast\u2019s future to be outlined this morning on the Gold Coast by <a href=\"http:\/\/stephenyarwood.com\/\">former Adelaide mayor Stephen Yarwood<\/a>, who is one of Australia\u2019s few urban futurists.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.brisbanetimes.com.au\/queensland\/changes-to-car-ownership-a-challenge-to-growing-cities-futurist-20160201-gmj2ai.html\" target=\"_blank\">Read more<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2 trends that is happening now especially with millennials: car ownership is no longer the desire; and home ownership is out of reach.
